Yusuf (peace be upon him) began as a beloved son in the home of Yaqub (peace be upon him), and his story first opened through a dream full of future meaning. Yaqub understood that the dream was a sign from Allah, and he sensed that Yusuf's life would not remain ordinary. Love and prophecy were already meeting in the same house. That special nearness stirred jealousy in the hearts of some brothers. Their problem was not only with Yusuf. It was with the favor of Allah appearing where they did not want it.
